There are over 8,200 rental and sale units currently available in downtown St. Louis.  The variety of housing options is growing too. Loft conversions continue to be extremely popular and there are many new and re-sale options from which to choose. But the next wave of residential development will include conversion of historic office buildings into traditional-style condos and apartments as well as new construction condos and apartments.  New residential properties will include luxury condos in Post Office Square and units looking at Busch Stadium.

As residential development grows, distinct districts and neighborhoods are emerging throughout the downtown area. The Washington Ave / Garment District, Central Business District (CBD), Post Office Square neighborhood, Cupples Station / Ballpark District, Civic Center District, Downtown West District, Carr Square District, Columbus Square District, Laclede's Landing neighborhood, and the Riverside North District each offer their own unique character and charm.
